State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said that social media Facebook, TikTok YouTube will be launched from today.
He said this at a press conference at BTRC building in Agargaon in the capital on Wednesday (July 31) afternoon.
The state minister said that restrictions on the use of social media platforms, which were temporarily imposed for some time, are being withdrawn today. Facebook, TikTok and YouTube will be launched by (Wednesday) afternoon.
Earlier in the morning, Palak held an online meeting with the delegation of Metro at the BTRC building in Agargaon in the capital. At this time, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) chairman and various high-ranking officials were also present. Later, the Minister of State for Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology addressed the press conference after the meeting.
Junaid Ahmed Palak also talked about increasing the speed of internet in the press conference. He said, the speed of internet will be normal soon. The process of ensuring the maximum speed of the Internet is underway.
Mobile internet and broadband internet were stopped in the country from the night of July 17 as the violence spread around the students' movement demanding quota reforms in government jobs. Later on July 23, broadband internet was launched on a limited scale. And internet using mobile phone data was launched on July 28. However, the internet service is still running at a slow speed.
